Ground-breaking and topping out 05/2024

On the site on Kaufmannsmühlenkamp in Bremen, at the corner of Falkenstraße, the topping-out ceremony for a high-rise building once used by the army and the laying of the foundation stones for the two new buildings, a solitaire, and a studio building, recently took place. The district development ‘Q45’ includes a total of 126 subsidised apartments and eight commercial premises and is an environmentally friendly construction project that makes economic use of resources. Planned completion date for the conversion and the new-build is 2026. Until 2007 medical examinations to determine fitness for military service were made in the high-rise, which was built in the late 1960s. The building contained offices, storage rooms and, in the basement, six air raid shelters. After the office tower became vacant it was used intermittently for a variety of functions, serving, among other things, as a setting for films.
